The 2020 Season is On! Tom Tys, Chips Arend, Tiff Ford Swap Wins

With four races in the books, the 2020 PYC season got off to an exciting start, with excellent turnouts for so late in the summer. The August 24 races were both drifters, with the Tom Tys/John Fisher Thistle drifting away in race 1, and Chips Arend's MC Scow catching fire, slowly, to win the second race. The August 31 races saw more wind and more (nine) boats, with Tiff Ford's Scot surfing a lucky dose of wind in the first race to leave the becalmed pack behind, nearly catching Tom Tys' faster Thistle on the water. No more Mr. Nice guy, Tom! Tom came roaring (splashing?) back in the second race, narrowly beating Roy Cooley's Aero on corrected time, after Roy returned to racing just a week after graduating from intensive care. Great to see you back on the water, Roy! Mark Godecki, who has been acclimating to his new Sunfish this year, served notice on the other Sunfish sailors that he's getting with the program, taking a strong 3rd in the first race.
